The Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS), Space, Intelligence, and Weapon Systems Division, is seeking a highly motivated Systems Engineer to join our Double Eagle Program team in Las Cruces, NM. The SI&WS team works with proprietary customers in the development of the next-generation technologies in space. In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and ordering COMSEC equipment. You will utilize proper security and procedures when handling key material, maintain physical security, access controls, and procedures, and keep a record of combinations and daily security checks. Additionally, you will manage inventory and accounting requirements, conduct routine crypto destruction, and create destruction reports. Maintaining records of COMSEC alternate personnel and ensuring 100% accountability for COMSEC material will also be part of your responsibilities. You will ensure that the account is in compliance with physical, COMSEC recordkeeping, and proper handling/storage of classified keying material. This position is expected to be fully onsite at Las Cruces, NM and requires an active U.S. Top Secret/SCI clearance with an adjudicated CI Polygraph Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required).

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and order COMSEC equipment.
  • Utilize proper security and procedures when handling key material.

  • Conduct routine crypto destruction and creation of destruction reports.
  • Maintain records of COMSEC alternate personnel.
  • Maintain 100% accountability for COMSEC material.
  • Ensure account compliance with physical, COMSEC recordkeeping, and proper handling/storage of classified keying material.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 5+ years of experience leading teams and/or projects formally or informally.
  • Willingness to work variable shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime.

Nice-to-haves

  • Degree in Aerospace/Aeronautical, Science, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience working with aerospace vehicles and ground systems.
  • Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) training; certification in KMI is highly desired.
  • 3-5 years experience as COMSEC custodian or member of a COMSEC A/B team, in corporate or government environment.
  • Security+ certification is preferred but not required.
