About the position

The Communications Specialist will provide communications expertise to various segments of the business, focusing on both internal and external communications. This role involves writing deliverables, managing media activities, and supporting the brand of AGR and its affiliates. The specialist will work closely with multiple business units to develop targeted communications materials and strategies, while also participating in crisis response activities and serving as a media spokesperson when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Provides support to AGR departmental areas and services as their direct communications expert.
• Works to fully integrate communications into all aspects of AGR activities.
• Assists in writing, managing, and coordinating news media activities, including news releases and inquiries.
• Promotes the brand of AGR and its affiliates.
• Provides writing and editorial assistance in developing corporate communications materials and media marketing plans.
• Develops and maintains strong working relationships with multiple business units.
• Develops story ideas and places articles with media outlets.
• Participates in crisis and emergency response activities, including after-hour media inquiries.
• Assists in developing strategic communications plans and executes tactics to promote AGR's objectives.
• Researches, writes, designs, and produces internal and external communications efforts, including social media.
• May serve as a media spokesperson and communicate complex business issues.

Requirements

• BS/BA degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Public Relations, Marketing or related field.
• 1 to 3 years' experience in a corporate communications role.
• Ability to handle multiple projects at various stages.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to present complex and sensitive issues clearly.
• Strategic thinker and problem solver with strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment.
