The Department of Insurance and Financial Services (DIFS) is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Communications Specialist 13 in the Office of Communications. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the public is well-informed about the insurance and financial services industries in Michigan. As a Communications Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing DIFS' communications activities, which include assisting the Communications Director in developing effective communication strategies and managing media relations. You will also be tasked with writing and developing talking points, and serving as DIFS' Emergency Management Coordinator, which is crucial for maintaining public confidence in our services. In this position, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the community by helping to protect consumers and ensuring that they have access to clear and concise information regarding their rights and responsibilities.
