About the position

The Department of Insurance and Financial Services (DIFS) is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Communications Specialist 13 in the Office of Communications. As a Communications Specialist, you will oversee DIFS' communications activities, assisting the Communications Director in developing comprehensive communication strategies and managing media relations. Your responsibilities will include writing and developing talking points, crafting press releases, and serving as DIFS' Emergency Management Coordinator. Responsibilities

  • Oversee DIFS' communications activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, communications, broadcasting, telecommunications, advertising, or communication arts.
  • Four years of professional experience in the communications field equivalent to a Communications Representative, including two years equivalent to a Communications Representative P11 or one year equivalent to a Communications Representative 12.
  • Strong writing skills and public speaking abilities.
  • Analytical skills to understand complex information and present it clearly.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
