About the position

The position contributes to effective district communications and public relations through excellent customer service. The role involves assisting with the development and implementation of marketing campaigns, researching and writing articles, and developing content as directed. The individual will monitor, post content to, and maintain the district and school websites, as well as manage district social media accounts and assist schools with their social media management. Additional responsibilities include planning and implementing department projects and events, designing graphics for informational and promotional purposes, providing photography and video support at district and school events, and maintaining a positive district image for all visitors and personnel. The position requires a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality, establishing good rapport with students, employees, community members, and vendors, and occasional travel to local events after normal working hours.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with development and implementation of marketing campaigns.
  • Research, write articles, and develop content as directed.
  • Monitor, post content to and maintain the district and school websites.
  • Write, coordinate, schedule, monitor and interact on district social media accounts and assist schools with management of their social media as needed.
  • Assist with planning and implementation of department projects and events.
  • Design graphics for informational and promotional purposes.
  • Provide photography and video support at district and school events.
  • Provide positive District image for all visitors and personnel.
  • Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
  • Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, community members and vendors.
  • Travel to local events, occasionally after normal working hours.
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Bachelor's or associates degree in communications, marketing, journalism or related field OR three (3) years of experience in communications, marketing, journalism or related field required.
  • Valid Level I Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ FPCC).
  • Demonstrated competency in computer literacy, including Google for Education and use of Apple/Mac computers.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of standard practices, methods and materials of assigned work.
  • Knowledge of photo editing and graphic design principles.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite software.
  • Understanding of HTML and CSS.
  • Experience with social media platforms, best practices, management programs and news monitoring platforms.
  • Proficiency in using professional photo and video camera equipment.
