In this hybrid role based in Eden Prairie, MN, you will have the flexibility to work from home and the office as you take on some tough challenges. You will support Optum Communications' teams to advance the strategies within the designated line of business (LOB) teams. This includes providing strategic communications counsel, content development, and brand guidance for main team communication channels such as intranet articles and mass communication. You will be responsible for editing, reviewing, and making recommendations for channel content to ensure adherence to AP Style and content clarity before placing approved final content in channels. Your role will also involve overseeing projects from start to finish, managing timelines, and ensuring all aspects of projects are delivered smoothly and on time. You will coordinate town hall logistics, including scheduling, distributing invitations, providing day-of event support, and handling post-event duties. Additionally, you will maintain intranet business pages for designated LOBs, assist with editorial exploration and story mining, and monitor the Optum Communications mailbox to coordinate responses. Partnering with the LOB Communications team, you will ensure mass communication distribution lists are accurately maintained and oversee the publication and distribution of digital signage to all Optum geographies. You will also learn multiple channel platforms for executing, editing, and managing projects while demonstrating excellent people skills.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mass communications, public relations, English, or journalism.
  • 1+ years of corporate communications, public relations, or journalism experience.
  • Experience navigating across a complex organization to find information.
  • Proven excellent attention to detail and ability to meet project deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt quickly to new technologies.
  • Proven solid writing and editing skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven solid organizational skills and ability to self-manage projects.
  • Proven creative thinking, understanding the relationships and interconnections among projects, and logistics management are crucial success factors.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft programs (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint).
