About the position

The Communications Specialist II plays a crucial role in supporting the strategic communication efforts of MasTec Clean Energy & Infrastructure. This position is responsible for informing, influencing, and inspiring internal clients through effective communication strategies that advance the company brand and strengthen employee engagement. The specialist will work closely with various internal departments and stakeholders to create and disseminate content across multiple channels, including email, employee communication apps, digital publishing networks, and internal events. The role requires a proactive approach to content creation, ensuring that messaging aligns with the company's strategic priorities and employee engagement goals. In this position, the Communications Specialist will identify, research, plan, write, schedule, and publish content for company newsletters targeted at specific audiences. They will develop content for internal stakeholders and projects, create content campaigns for the company’s website and social media platforms, and provide recommendations on measurable internal strategies and tactics. The specialist will also monitor analytics and generate reports to influence communication strategies, ensuring that the brand voice is consistently conveyed across all platforms. Proofreading materials to produce accurate and high-quality work is also a key responsibility of this role. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in communications or marketing, with a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant professional experience. They should be familiar with corporate communications in a business setting, preferably within the construction industry. Strong creative, strategic, analytical, and organizational skills are essential, along with excellent oral and written communication abilities. The role requires the ability to think creatively to meet business requirements, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, research, plan, write, schedule and publish content for company newsletters to targeted audiences through various communication platforms.

  • Contribute to overall content strategy based on stakeholders' strategic priorities and employee engagement goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, English or related field required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years relevant professional experience in communications or marketing.
  • Familiarity with corporate communications in a business setting, preferably in a construction-related industry.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational skills.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal clients/business partners.
  • Ability to think creatively to meet business requirements.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Organized with an eye for detail.
  • Ability to handle projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with HTML email programs such as Constant Contact and/or texting platforms is a plus.
