About the position

The Communications Specialist role at CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield involves providing comprehensive communications support, including strategic planning, event management, and the development of marketing campaigns. The position requires drafting and editing various communications materials aimed at engaging stakeholders and driving policy acceptance. The specialist will work independently while also collaborating with team members in a creative environment.

Responsibilities

• Effectively write and edit clear, concise communications materials for various audiences.
• Independently plan, research, and write creative and well-organized copy.
• Lead and manage all phases of the communication project life cycle process.
• Act as a liaison across multiple areas to ensure effective project goals and completion.
• Develop SOPs and policies for materials and projects; maintain department inventory.
• Perform quality checks of the department's SOPs and Policies to ensure compliance standards are met.
• Initiate ideas to enhance communications and stay updated on industry trends.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Business, or related field, or 4 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
• 3 years of communications experience.
• Proven project management experience in communications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to meet established deadlines and handle multiple customer service demands.
