About the position

The Communications Specialist - Social and New Media at Bowhead Total Enterprise Solutions is responsible for developing and producing social and new media communications to support the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division. This role involves creating engaging content, cultivating relationships with leadership, and maintaining the organization's corporate image while utilizing various communication platforms.

Responsibilities

• Create and edit articles, news releases, fact sheets, and talking points to enhance understanding of the command and its mission.
• Cultivate relationships with leadership and public affairs officers to identify story ideas.
• Participate in meetings to stay informed about organizational accomplishments and public relations activities.
• Work with editors of internal publications to repurpose content.
• Maintain the organization's corporate image and identity.
• Evaluate outreach programs for compatibility with public relations efforts.
• Prepare and monitor customer requests for public-release review of materials.
• Develop and implement social and new media communication tools and objectives.
• Utilize SharePoint and Teams to build internal audience.
• Deliver social and new media recommendations based on public feedback and policy guidance.
• Assist with the assessment and approval of materials for public release.

Requirements

• Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.
• Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment.
