About the position

Dominion Energy is seeking an experienced, highly motivated communications specialist--videographer/editor with photography skills to join its corporate communications team. This position is based in Richmond, Virginia, and offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing for three days in the office and two days of teleworking. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within the team, focusing on video editing, shooting, animation/motion graphics, video production, and project management. The role requires a self-starter who is knowledgeable about all phases of video/audio production and can produce high-quality work on deadline to help tell the company's story in support of its brand. The primary responsibilities include serving as a videographer and editor for both internal and external needs, providing composition, lighting, and video services across various digital platforms, including web and social media. The candidate will be responsible for shooting and editing high-quality corporate videos on Sony/Canon platforms in HD and 4k formats, ensuring that the final products are cohesive, compelling, and compliant with brand standards. Additionally, the role involves converting raw files to final products, conducting pre-production tasks such as location scouting and interview preparation, and maintaining organized files and backups for easy access to archived creative assets. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in a dynamic environment and can balance multiple projects simultaneously while meeting assigned deadlines. The role may require working outside of core hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays for special events or emergencies. The position also involves travel, primarily day travel with occasional overnight trips within the Dominion Energy footprint.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a videographer and editor, as well as photographer, for internal and external needs.
  • Provide composition, lighting and video services across all platforms and for a variety of digital products, including web and social media.
  • Shoot and edit high-quality short- and long-form corporate video on Sony/Canon platforms in HD and 4k formats, resulting in cohesive, compelling and brand-compliant products.
  • Convert raw files to final products, including color correction and stabilization, custom title graphics, after-effects and basic audio mixing within set deadlines.
  • Conduct pre-production tasks, including location scouting, interview preparation, equipment setup and maintenance, etc.
  • Follow all standards and guidelines to ensure brand integrity, including quality, consistency and usability of creative products.
  • Maintain organized files and backups for easy access of archived creative assets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in radio/TV, film, fine arts or related field and five years of related experience, preferably operating video cameras and editing equipment (Note: A Master's degree will count as one year of experience).
  • Minimum of three years of experience creating and editing content in Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Photoshop as well as with Macintosh and Windows operating systems.
  • Proficiency with audio/visual equipment, including professional camera systems, lighting equipment, boom and wireless microphones, etc.
  • Production background with some corporate experience preferred; experience in the energy or other regulated industry with a drone license is a plus.
