About the position

Hanger, Inc. is seeking a Communications Specialist to join our dynamic team in a hybrid remote capacity. This role is pivotal in enhancing our internal communications and managing our collaborative intranet, which serves as a vital tool for our over 6,000 employees. The Communications Specialist will work closely with the Enterprise Communications Team to develop and implement communication strategies that align with Hanger's business objectives, culture, and values. This position is ideal for an early-career professional who possesses strong writing, editing, and content creation skills, and is eager to contribute to a company that is dedicated to empowering human potential through innovative orthotic and prosthetic solutions. In this role, you will take ownership of the company's collaborative intranet, ensuring that it is effectively managed and optimized for community engagement. You will collaborate with various departments, including Human Resources, Marketing, and IT, to create and execute internal communication plans that support ongoing programs and change management initiatives. Your ability to assess current communication efforts and develop metrics for tracking their success will be crucial in driving improvements and ensuring that our internal messaging is effective and impactful. Additionally, you will be responsible for producing regular content such as newsletters, internal news articles, and email announcements to keep employees informed about strategic initiatives and company updates. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong project management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. You will also need to communicate in a voice that reflects Hanger's values and culture, fostering a sense of trust and collaboration among employees.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as business owner for the company's collaborative intranet, leading content management and maintenance.
  • Work collaboratively with the Enterprise Communications Team to develop and implement internal communication plans.
  • Assess current communication efforts and develop metrics for tracking their efficiency and success.
  • Produce and report on analytics to share with various departments.
  • Create regular content such as newsletters, internal news articles, and email announcements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications or related field.
  • Excellent writing, proofing, and editorial skills; fluent in AP Style.
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Critical thinking skills and ability to prioritize projects according to enterprise objectives.
  • Ability to effectively partner with employees at all levels.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2+ years' experience in communications, preferably in internal and executive communications.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of social intranet strategies and management, including Staffbase.
  • Experience creating dashboards and interpreting analytics.
  • Video and graphic design experience, including proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
