About the position

The Communications Specialist at Birchwood Country Club is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing all written and electronic communications and marketing initiatives for the club. This includes managing the club's website and app, crafting email communications, designing event flyers, and producing newsletters, magazines, menus, and brochures. The specialist will also engage with social media platforms, conduct surveys, and handle photography and videography to enhance the club's visibility and member engagement. In addition to these responsibilities, the Communications Specialist will play a crucial role in membership marketing and promotions. This includes tracking and following up on new member inquiries, onboarding new members, and implementing strategies for member retention. The position requires active participation in expanding the club's communication programs by researching, evaluating, and recommending innovative solutions to improve the overall member experience. The specialist will collaborate closely with the Membership Committee to develop measurable marketing strategies and lead a rebranding campaign. They will also be responsible for enhancing the functionality and aesthetics of the official club website and app, ensuring that all digital platforms are user-friendly and engaging. Furthermore, the role involves producing promotional materials, coordinating content for newsletters and weekly emails, and analyzing member website usage patterns to inform future strategies. The Communications Specialist will also draft and edit communications from management and the Board of Governors, oversee tours for prospective members, and coordinate new member orientations alongside the General Manager. A key aspect of this role is to develop and manage a member retention program that includes follow-ups at 30, 60, and 90 days, promoting ongoing engagement with the club's digital platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all written and electronic communication and marketing programs for the club.
  • Administer and update the club's website and app.
  • Develop and monitor the official Birchwood Club App and Website.
  • Produce event and promotional flyers in coordination with Department Managers.
  • Develop and coordinate content and layout for the club newsletter and weekly emails.
  • Evaluate and report on member website usage patterns.
  • Draft and edit all written communications from management and the Board of Governors.
  • Respond to new member inquiries and track CRM information.
  • Oversee tours for member candidates and guide them through the membership process.
  • Coordinate new member orientation alongside the General Manager.
  • Develop and oversee a member retention program with follow-ups at 30, 60, and 90 days.
  • Promote member engagement with the official club website and app.
  • Create and manage content for social media and web platforms.
  • Serve as the club photographer and develop a library of club events and member photos.

Requirements
