Responsibilities
- Reading and translating research studies into news for general audiences
- Creating and editing web pages
- Designing and sending newsletters
- Social media strategy
- Digital flyer and graphic design with Canva
- Corresponding with scientific experts and students
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience
- Experience in science, technology, engineering, math or other health-related fields
- Have an interest in learning to communicate technical topics to general audiences
- Be open to learning about unfamiliar topics in order to communicate them
- Have familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft 365 and Canva
- Be comfortable working independently and interacting with a wide variety of audiences, including technical experts, media, clinicians and students
- Be open to receiving feedback on creative work to grow their communications skills
