About the position

The Piedmont Environmental Council (PEC) is looking for a dedicated Communications Specialist to join our team in Warrenton, Virginia. This role is pivotal in promoting PEC's mission and programs through a variety of communication channels, both online and offline. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies that effectively convey our environmental initiatives and engage our community. This position requires a creative thinker who can produce compelling content that resonates with diverse audiences, including stakeholders, donors, and the general public. As a Communications Specialist, you will work closely with various teams within PEC to ensure that our messaging is consistent and impactful. You will be tasked with managing our social media platforms, creating newsletters, and developing promotional materials that highlight our conservation efforts. Additionally, you will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing the effectiveness of our communication strategies, making adjustments as necessary to enhance our outreach efforts. The successful candidate will have a passion for environmental issues and a strong understanding of communication best practices. You will play a key role in fostering relationships with media outlets and community partners to amplify our message and increase our visibility. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
