About the position

The Communications Specialist will support a team in the design, management, and implementation of strategies to enhance grassroots advocacy capabilities at state and local levels. This role requires a proven track record in campaign management, familiarity with the political process, and experience in traditional campaign tactics. The position involves collaboration with various departments and requires strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and report on changes in regulations, legislation, or permitting requirements and their expected impacts.
• Assist management in monitoring local, state, and federal regulatory and legislative developments to identify issues affecting the company's operations.
• Coordinate the representation of the organization's interests before regulatory and legislative bodies.
• Keep the Strategic Engagement Campaigns team organized, including scheduling and maintaining agendas for meetings.
• Oversee collaborative systems and reporting on the program to internal clients and senior management.
• Achieve technical fluency to help train team members on data systems such as PowerBI and Monday.com.
• Manage contracting, invoicing, and data management required for partnerships and vendors.
• Support regular executive meetings with presentation materials and financial summaries.
• Contribute to initiatives supporting the success of the program, including constituency relationship initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• 3+ years of experience in communications or related field
• Experience in the Utility/Energy Industry
• Strong communication skills
• Experience with financial analysis and Power BI

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in campaign or issue management
• Familiarity with traditional campaign tactics such as paid, earned, and social media
• Cross-functional experience in corporate settings
