About the position

The position involves managing and implementing the goals and objectives of the Yon^haliyo (Prevention and Domestic Abuse) programs within the Family Services Department of the Oneida Nation. The role focuses on promoting positive choices and healthy lifestyles for families in the community, providing supervision and support to the Community Advocates team, and ensuring quality services are delivered. The continuation of this position is contingent upon funding allocations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and implement the goals and objectives of Yon^haliyo (Prevention and Domestic Abuse) programs.
  • Develop, implement and monitor department goals and objectives.
  • Assist in any change agent that is implemented to improve the quality of services.
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain program budgets.
  • Grant management and budget oversight including compliance and reporting.
  • Oversee record and reporting requirements for compliance with database management systems.
  • Ensure families are referred to appropriate support services.
  • Provide culturally based healing opportunities to individuals and families.
  • Prepare and submit program reports and other required documents.
  • Provide leadership to the Yon^haliyo staff including hiring, scheduling, and training.
  • Facilitate regular staff meetings to ensure communication and program-related activities.
  • Support and guide staff on direct service delivery and follow-up services.
  • Assist in planning and implementing community education and awareness events.
  • Cultivate relationships with various agencies to ensure quality services.
  • Represent the Oneida Family Services Department at meetings and committees.
  • Practice excellent customer service skills and maintain confidentiality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or a closely related field.
  • Knowledge of department organization, functions, objectives, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and communicate effectively in diverse situations.
  • Knowledge of available community resources and best practice standards.
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with individuals from varying backgrounds.
  • Experience in preparing, reviewing, and analyzing operational and financial reports.
  • Knowledge of budget planning and administration, and grant management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Social Work
  • Experience in AODA prevention/intervention
  • Professional work in Domestic Abuse or related field
  • Leadership work in social services environment.
