This role is essential for providing customer service and support in recovering delinquent payments from clients. The specialist will handle a variety of tasks including collecting unpaid assessments, researching discrepancies, processing adjustment requests, and preparing documents for trial. Strong organizational and communication skills are crucial for managing a high volume of calls and emails while maintaining professionalism and accuracy in financial record-keeping.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service and support to clients in recovering delinquent payments.
  • Collect unpaid assessments and research payment discrepancies.
  • Review and process adjustment requests and administer payment plans.
  • Assemble documents in preparation for trial and manage efforts to satisfy judgments.
  • Communicate with stakeholders regarding delinquent accounts and payment plans.
  • Work with counsel to prepare for Board meetings and client interactions.
  • Summarize current delinquent status by collecting information and preparing reports as needed.
  • Aid in the preparation of asset, liability, and account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience in Community Association collections preferred or 2 to 3 years in a related field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills with a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial records.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Time management and decision-making abilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Some understanding of the Fair Debt Collection Practice Act.
  • Some understanding of general bankruptcy principles.
  • Some understanding of E-Filing in District and Circuit Courts.
