As a Community Association Manager - Portfolio at FirstService Residential, you will play a pivotal role in providing leadership and management direction on behalf of the Board of Directors and the company. Your primary responsibility will be to serve as a liaison to assigned communities, ensuring effective communication, enforcing legal compliance, and overseeing the operations of the association and its staff. This position is based in Elk Grove Village, IL, and reports to the Hoffman Estates corporate office. In this role, you will develop recommendations for community goals and lead action plans to achieve the objectives set by the Board. You will provide community leadership and guidance to ensure that the needs and desires of homeowners are addressed effectively. Building strong relationships with Board members through regular communication—whether in-person, via email, or telephone—will be essential to exceed individual client needs. You will work in partnership with the Board to create and implement the annual working budget, monitoring and reporting on the financial position of the association monthly. Ensuring due diligence for the protection of client funds, property, and assets against foreseeable contingencies or losses will be a critical aspect of your responsibilities. You will also provide leadership during Board meetings, supporting agenda items and delivering written and oral reports, while summarizing priorities and ensuring appropriate follow-up. Maintaining a high level of service excellence in all interactions with residents, vendors, staff, and colleagues is paramount. You will assess and monitor community needs, identifying opportunities for improving service delivery methods and developing new programs. Collaborating with external vendor partners to implement programs or improvements will also be part of your duties. Additionally, you will recruit, hire, train, and supervise all community staff in accordance with the documented management plan, evaluating and making recommendations for efficient support of the community. Working closely with local emergency organizations to maintain established emergency and community evacuation plans will be necessary. Compliance with the Illinois Condo Act and FirstService Residential policies, including assessing and correcting any violations from regulatory agencies, is also a key responsibility of this role.
