About the position

The Community-Based Residential Case Manager will play a crucial role in providing case management services to ex-offenders who are participants in the Community Based Residential Program. This position involves developing a case conferencing process specifically tailored for high-risk offenders, ensuring that they receive the necessary support and resources to facilitate their reintegration into society. The Case Manager will be responsible for maintaining strong relationships with staff from the CMI agency, as well as with parole officers and community members, to create a supportive network for the clients. Regular meetings with the Supervisor will be essential to review case progress, address any barriers faced by clients, and strategize on effective interventions. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to supporting individuals in their journey towards successful re-entry into the community.

Responsibilities

  • Provide case management services to ex-offenders enrolled in the Community Based Residential Program.
  • Develop and implement a case conferencing process for high-risk offenders.
  • Maintain relationships with CMI agency staff, parole officers, and community members.
  • Meet regularly with the Supervisor to review cases and address barriers within the case load.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Science, preferably in Criminal Justice or a related field.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, or 2 years of experience working in the Criminal Justice system with knowledge of Offender Re-Entry.
  • Clean and valid NYS Driver's License.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with ex-offenders or in a community-based setting.
  • Knowledge of community resources available for ex-offenders.
