About the position

Youth Villages is expanding its community-based programs and is seeking dedicated counselors and social workers to provide intensive in-home treatment for youth, families, and young adults. This role is crucial in helping at-risk individuals navigate their challenges and achieve successful outcomes. As a Community-Based Specialist, you will be part of a team that is committed to making a positive impact in the lives of troubled youth and their families. The organization prides itself on its success rate, with 84% of participants thriving two years post-treatment, living at home, remaining in school, and avoiding legal troubles. In this position, you will provide in-home counseling services tailored to the unique needs of at-risk youth and their families. You will manage a small caseload, ensuring that each client receives quality, intensive counseling. The frequency of sessions will vary based on individual needs and referrals. Additionally, you will be responsible for providing after-hours support, which includes being on-call for your caseload during weekdays and rotating weekend and overnight duties. Collaboration is key in this role; you will work closely with families, teachers, and community members to support the youth's success, which may involve attending court hearings or school meetings. The work environment is dynamic and non-traditional, allowing for flexibility in scheduling based on the availability of the families you serve. You will also participate in three weekly meetings focused on individual, team, and clinical consultation, which are designed to enhance your clinical skills and provide professional development opportunities. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about social services, value teamwork, and are looking for a fulfilling career rather than just a job.
