The coordinator will work closely with community members, providing guidance on eligibility requirements and application processes for benefits such as food stamps, Medicaid, and Medicare savings programs. The role requires a strong understanding of federal and state programs, as well as the ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with regulatory standards. In addition to direct support for community members, the Community Benefits Coordinator will participate in external marketing events and collaborate with Carrier Representatives. The position emphasizes teamwork, requiring the coordinator to work positively and cooperatively with fellow team members while assisting in the orientation and training of new hires. The coordinator will also be responsible for organizing their work area and job functions to effectively complete assignments within established time frames. The role demands a proactive approach, with the coordinator expected to keep current on changes in guidelines and requirements for government-sponsored benefits. The working conditions are primarily in a general office environment, but the position also involves intermittent physical activity, including walking, standing, and lifting up to 30 lbs. Responsibilities

  • Assist community members with questions on and applications for government sponsored benefits.
  • Familiarity with government sponsored benefits eligibility requirements and guidelines.
  • External marketing events participation.
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect community members' personal information.
  • Comply with Anti-Kickback regulations and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Assist in the orientation/training of new Team Members.
  • Work positively and cooperatively with fellow Team Members.
  • Assist other Team members in the performance of their assignments.
  • Work in conjunction with Carrier Representatives.
  • Consider the impact of your actions on Team Members throughout the company.
  • Provide patient support and interaction.
  • Plan and attend events.
  • Minimize non-productive time and fill slow periods with preparatory activities for future needs.
  • Organize job functions and work area to effectively complete varied assignments within established time frames.
  • Attend required training and communicate educational needs.
  • Keep current on changes in guidelines and requirements for government sponsored benefits.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with eligibility and application process for various government sponsored benefits such as food stamps, Medicaid, Medicare savings programs.
  • Previous experience as a Community Benefits Coordinator preferred.
  • Bilingual is a plus.
  • Sales or Marketing experience is a plus.
  • Intermittent physical activity including walking, standing, sitting, lifting up to 30 lbs., and pushing carts.
  • Required to work at any facility and be responsible for own transportation.
  • Computer literacy required.
  • Ability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner.
  • Demonstrate initiative to make decisions within scope without direct supervision.
  • Knowledge and understanding of all policies and procedures.
