The Community & Communications Specialist position at the Wood County Park District is a full-time role that plays a crucial part in managing and coordinating marketing functions for the Park District. This includes compiling, reviewing, and analyzing analytics and data to develop and implement a marketing budget. The specialist will be responsible for creating and executing print and web marketing campaigns, generating graphics, writing content, and managing social media and website updates. Additionally, the role involves designing print collateral such as brochures and flyers, and coordinating marketing efforts with other staff members. In addition to marketing responsibilities, the Community & Communications Specialist will manage the recruitment and coordination of volunteers. This includes soliciting, selecting, onboarding, and scheduling volunteers, as well as maintaining volunteer information and communications. The specialist will also serve as a liaison to the Friends of the Parks, assisting with fundraisers and events, and managing content management software. The position requires maintaining information on Google Maps, creating interactive maps for navigation and public use, and coordinating information booths at fairs and festivals. Public relations duties are also a significant part of the role, including providing information about Park District programs, arranging media interviews, and preparing annual reports. The specialist will participate in donor development and grant writing, maintaining positive relationships with park supporters and researching funding opportunities. The role demands flexibility, as the specialist will work variable hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. The ideal candidate must be courteous and helpful, representing the Wood County Park District positively. Maintaining current CPR and First Aid certifications is also required, along with a commitment to teamwork and collaboration with staff at all levels.
