About the position

The Community Consultant (Leasing Agent) at American Property Management is responsible for managing tenant relations, showcasing property units, and ensuring high levels of customer service within a senior tax-credit community. This role requires a physical presence on-site and involves working closely with prospective tenants to facilitate the rental process while maintaining compliance with housing regulations and company standards.

Responsibilities

• Tour units with prospective tenants and highlight the qualities and selling points of the property/units.
• Handle customer and tenant relations and ensure all issues are being addressed promptly and with a high level of customer service.
• Maintain knowledge of the current area market.
• Prepare and maintain reports for managers.
• Host community events and ensure they comply with American Property Management's Quality Standards.
• Assist residents from beginning to end of the rental process.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years' experience in customer service is required.
• 1+ years' experience in the multifamily/student housing industry within the last 10 years preferred.
• Knowledge of Federal Fair Housing Laws, Landlord/Tenant Laws and ADA laws preferred.
• LIHTC/Affordable Housing experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Proficient in effective communication and teamwork.
• Fluent in English, with strong reading, speaking, and writing skills.
