About the position
The Community Coordinator position at PAX involves representing the organization in Barrington, RI, and facilitating the placement of international exchange students with local host families and schools. This role is ideal for motivated individuals who have experience working with teens and are passionate about international education and cultural exchange.
Responsibilities
- Securing placements with volunteer host families and local high schools for exchange students.
- Generating interest in the local community and working with families interested in hosting.
- Conducting orientations for host families and students.
- Providing support and guidance to students as they adjust to cultural differences and their host family environment.
- Connecting the organization with families and schools in the local community.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Driver's License required.
- Experience in sales preferred (1 year).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience in education or youth counseling.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience parenting, teaching, or working with teens.
- Considered hosting or have hosted exchange students before.
- A passionate 'can-do' attitude.
