About the position

The Community Corrections Worker (Program Monitor) position at Community Resources for Justice (CRJ) is an entry-level, per-diem role focused on supporting individuals in a community corrections setting. The position involves various responsibilities including front desk duties, security and accountability tasks, and serving as a pro-social role model for residents. This role offers valuable training and opportunities for career advancement within a nonprofit organization dedicated to social justice and community support.

Responsibilities

  • Perform front desk duties including general reception, signing residents in and out, taking calls, and greeting visitors.
  • Conduct house rounds and life/safety checks as scheduled.
  • Perform nightly bed checks and conduct bag, pat, and room searches.
  • Monitor resident daily details and enter documentation in SecurManage.
  • Take urine samples and administer alco-sensor tests as scheduled, completing necessary documentation.
  • Serve as a pro-social role model to residents, supporting their behavior change and addressing their concerns.
  • Attend training and staff meetings as required.
  • Perform other job-related projects and activities as requested.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate's Degree preferred but not required.
  • 1-2 years of security experience preferred but not required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a community corrections or similar environment.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
