About the position

The Community Crisis Stabilization Counselor role involves providing support and care for individuals experiencing mental health and substance use disorders in a structured environment. The position focuses on crisis stabilization, care coordination, and treatment planning, allowing consumers to maintain their health and develop skills for independent living. The counselor will work as part of a team in an acute care residence, offering guidance and direct support to help individuals navigate their challenges and achieve stabilization.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance, education, and supervision to consumers in crisis.
• Assist in care coordination and treatment planning for individuals with mental health and substance use disorders.
• Document consumer progress and activities in program records.
• Work collaboratively as part of a team to support consumers' physical and emotional health.
• Help consumers develop skills necessary for independent living.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree with one year of experience, or a High School diploma with three years of related experience.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Basic computer fluency, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
