About The Position

The Community Development Manager at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas will lead a cross-functional team focused on advancing economic mobility and resilience for low- and moderate-income communities. This role involves overseeing initiatives, research, and outreach efforts aimed at addressing economic challenges and fostering partnerships for community impact. The manager will play a key role in developing strategies that align with the broader goals of the Community Engagement and Development department, collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance community development efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Economics, Urban and Regional planning, Community Development, or a related field required; Master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of work experience in community/economic development or related fields.
  • Demonstrated ability to set strategy, vision, and goals, and to drive team accountability and results.
  • Experience developing and leading place-based economic development or social impact initiatives.
  • Knowledge of social and economic factors that impact community development.
  • Specific issue area experience in Workforce Development, K-12 Education Policy, Economic Development, or Community Development Finance.
  • Experience in managing and developing people and nurturing high-performing teams.
  • Substantive knowledge of community and economic development landscape and salient issues in the Eleventh District.
  • Strong networking skills and relationships within the business, non-profit, public policy, and philanthropic sectors.
  • Demonstrated track record of effective oral, written and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive portfolios of place-based initiatives, research products, and community outreach that promotes economic resilience and mobility of low- and moderate-income people and places in the Eleventh Federal Reserve District.
  • Lead the overall program management for the Advance Together initiative and other efforts to improve educational attainment and employment outcomes in under-resourced geographies.
  • Oversee and provide strategic guidance to the unit's programs in financial education and capabilities portfolio.
  • Ensure the creation of programs and products of exceptional value and relevance to partners and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to and guide synthesis of the most salient and emergent issues facing low- and moderate-income communities.
  • Continue to strengthen the department and Bank's reputation for objectivity, quality and relevance nationally and within the region.
  • Lead staff to set motivating stretch-objectives and ensure that relevant goals and objectives are implemented.
  • Attract, develop and retain a high caliber professional staff with diverse capabilities.
  • Maintain highly effective, collaborative relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Create an environment that rewards, recognizes, and implements innovative ideas that advance the goals of the Bank and the community development function.
  • Oversee District-wide external outreach and engagement initiatives of the Department.
  • Develop and advance the Reserve Bank's engagement strategy by fostering partnerships and informing policies and programs that advance economic mobility and resilience.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with diverse stakeholders and ensure that outreach serves the needs of community stakeholders.
