About the position

The Community Development Manager at Omni Fiber is a pivotal role focused on expanding residential sales opportunities. This position requires a proactive approach to building relationships with various stakeholders, including Multi-Dwelling Unit (MDU) owners, residential housing contractors, and homeowner's associations. The manager will be instrumental in securing new business opportunities and ensuring the efficient delivery of services to customers and partners. This role involves collaboration with the Operations team to maintain timelines and schedules that facilitate the smooth provision of Omni Fiber services. In addition to relationship building, the Community Development Manager will be responsible for negotiating Utility Access Agreements and Service Provider Partnership agreements with MDU owners. The manager will also work closely with the Marketing team to devise strategies for attracting new residential customers through these partnerships. A key aspect of the role is to maintain a weekly sales pipeline that tracks relevant information related to the sales process, ensuring that all activities are performed within deadlines, whether independently or as part of a team. The position requires attendance at local community events, such as owners' association meetings, to promote Omni Fiber's agenda and increase residential service offerings. The manager will also engage with zoning boards, permitting authorities, and market supervisors to facilitate the growth of the company's services. Identifying competitive threats and reporting them to sales and marketing leadership is also a critical responsibility of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Seek out new residential sales opportunities for Omni Fiber.
  • Secure and negotiate Utility Access Agreements and Service Provider Partnership agreements with MDU owners.
  • Work with Marketing to develop plans to secure new residential business through partnerships.
  • Create and maintain a weekly sales pipeline with pertinent information related to selling services to new partners.
  • Perform quality work within deadlines, with or without direct supervision.
  • Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments.
  • Negotiate terms to secure new residential customers through relationships.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Marketing to develop financial models for breakeven analysis and Cost-per-Acquisition.
  • Attend local community events to promote Omni Fiber's residential services.
  • Work with zoning boards, permitting authorities, and market supervisors.
  • Identify competitive threats and report them to sales and marketing leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of recent experience in business development, sales, or marketing in the telecommunications industry.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, to senior executives and business partners.
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of Cable/Telecom industries and technology utilized for broadband service delivery.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams like construction, sales, engineering, and operations.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with internal and external customers.
  • Proficient in computer usage with good typing skills, including proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills.
  • Flexibility to work varying hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
