Meta is seeking an experienced individual to join our data center community development team. This role is crucial in partnering with various internal teams, including site selection, operations, communications, and public policy, to advance community development initiatives and maintain important relationships in each of our global data center regions. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and managing relationships with key stakeholders in the data center community, which includes local county elected officials, business organizations, non-profit organizations, and local school districts. This position requires a proactive approach to understanding company and infrastructure-related goals and initiatives, and how to effectively advance them at the local level. In addition to relationship management, the role involves maintaining and optimizing Meta's regional data center community development plan. The candidate will build strong relationships with local community partners to help alleviate risks locally and advance infrastructure development. Monitoring local community needs and reporting back to leadership with regular updates on risks to larger business goals is also a key responsibility. The individual will work in partnership with internal teams to develop strategies for community involvement and coordinate diligence and strategic planning surrounding charitable activities and other community initiatives. A familiarity with local and state policy and legislative processes is essential, as the candidate will need to understand legislative proceedings and planning at a local level. Managing external relationships through engagements and media interviews in local markets is also part of the role. The ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed, up to 50%, is required for this position.
