About the position

The Community Employment Specialist (CES) role at AccessAbility Inc. involves supervising a small team of individuals with disabilities in a community setting. The CES is responsible for providing on-site training, ensuring the health and safety of team members, and promoting independence among individuals served. This position is ideal for self-starters who enjoy working outside of a traditional office environment and are passionate about helping others develop their work skills and social abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision and on-site training to a small team of individuals living with disabilities.
  • Assign individuals served to specific work duties and set up jobs to meet employer standards.
  • Provide individuals served with constructive feedback on work performance by identifying areas of strengths and opportunities.
  • Serve as an advocate for individuals served.
  • Maintain good working relationship with employer and work crew, and represent AccessAbility, Inc in a positive and professional manner.
  • Promote independence amongst individuals served by allowing them to complete jobs with minimum assistance.
  • Ensure quality of all finished products and work completed by individuals served.
  • Communicate with case managers and AAI staff about individuals served progress and concerns.
  • Implement and document persons served plan and progress.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years' work experience in providing services to people with disabilities in a vocational or residential setting preferred, but not necessary.
  • Must be able to lift, push and pull a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good attendance is expected and essential to being successful in this position.
  • Ability to pass requirements of DHS background check.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality required.
  • Valid driver's license and insurance required.
