About the position

Community Interface Services is seeking a reliable Resource Counselor to join our team in our Community Integration program. If you are interested in empowering people and assisting them in achieving their dreams, this social services position may be the perfect fit for you! As a local nonprofit that has been serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities since 1983, we believe that individuals with these disabilities are best positioned to determine how they want to live, and they should be valued and included in society. As a Community Engagement Aide, you will work closely with one individual who is eager to participate in their local community. This person enjoys volunteering, working out, and exploring different parts of the community. Your role will involve supporting them in exploring volunteer opportunities and engaging with their local community. You will also plan social and recreational activities to help expand their network, assist with mobility training to increase their independence in accessing the community, and develop and implement a personalized plan of direct support for their personal goals. Additionally, you will document progress and collaborate with a larger team to analyze metrics and determine future steps. This full-time human services position operates Monday through Friday, with work locations ranging from Sorrento Valley to Central San Diego. The starting pay for this position is between $20 and $22 per hour, with the potential for a $1 per hour pay increase after completing a six-month development and performance program.
