About the position

The Community Engagement Manager for the Seattle Christmas Market will play a pivotal role in enhancing community relationships and visibility for the market. This position involves developing strategies to engage local community groups, sponsors, and media partners, ensuring inclusivity and promoting the market's activities. The role requires strong communication skills, event coordination experience, and a passion for community engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with local community organizations, non-profits, and businesses.
  • Reach out to potential local partners to build strong relationships and collaborate on activations.
  • Establish and maintain connections with local hotels and business associations to promote the Market.
  • Engage underprivileged community groups and invite them for special visits or events.
  • Identify and collaborate with local stakeholders to increase Market awareness and attendance.
  • Attend community events, local organization fundraisers, and networking events to create and maintain relationships.
  • Coordinate special events and activities at the Market as per partnership agreements.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure all events are well-publicized and executed.
  • Respond to community and partnership inquiries through social channels, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Create and share content that highlights partnerships, special events, and Market initiatives on social media.
  • Manage sponsorship activations, ensuring they add value and enhance the Market experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Event Management, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in community engagement, event planning, public relations, or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and digital marketing strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a passion for building community relationships.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed during the Market season.
  • A proactive, driven approach with strong organizational and multitasking skills.
