About the position

The Community Engagement Manager at the Society for Information Display (SID) is responsible for enhancing the organization's presence across various social media platforms and managing the SID online community, which connects over 5000 members. This role involves developing engagement strategies, creating content, analyzing social media trends, and collaborating with staff on key initiatives such as the 'Call for Papers' submission process. The position requires strong communication skills, the ability to work under tight deadlines, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Developing social media strategies to increase brand awareness and customer engagement.
  • Analyzing the long-term needs of the company's social media strategy and providing quarterly reports to management.
  • Creating captivating content for social media sites, including blogs, articles, and multimedia content.
  • Staying updated with the latest social media trends and digital technologies.
  • Developing monthly reports on emerging social media trends for management.
  • Overseeing competitions and campaigns to draw attention to the brand.
  • Setting measurable goals for campaigns and measuring Return on Investment (ROI).
  • Monitoring and responding to customer feedback and social media posts.
  • Liaising with partners to create an effective online marketing strategy.
  • Managing all aspects of the SID Network Portal on the Higher Logic Online Community platform.
  • Designing and deploying campaigns to foster participation within the online community.
  • Building mechanisms to elevate discussions and accomplishments within the online community.
  • Developing curation strategies to identify member-created content for resource guides.
  • Conceptualizing and delivering product enhancements to improve user experience.
  • Understanding and managing the paper submission software (Sheridan).
  • Collaborating on the selection of distinguished papers for Display Week.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, information management, or related fields.
  • 5+ years of experience creating content strategies to increase user engagement.
  • Experience working with Higher Logic online communities strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience building and maintaining online communities within dedicated platforms.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is required.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze social and behavioral data to identify opportunities.
  • Commitment to user-centered design approaches.
  • Ability to establish collaborative working relationships with staff and community users.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple communications platforms.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to generate and curate content related to the Display Industry.
  • Strong research, information retrieval, and data analysis skills.
  • Fluency with MS Office systems, including Word and Excel.
