About the position

The Community Engagement Manager is responsible for overseeing the DeKalb County Community Foundation's proactive community engagement programs and activities. This role involves developing, managing, and evaluating engagement strategies, fostering donor relationships, and collaborating with community leaders and stakeholders to enhance the Foundation's impact in the community.

Responsibilities

• Manage Board-directed proactive grantmaking in partnership with the Grants & Community Initiatives Director and Board members.
• Develop and evaluate engagement strategies and priorities for the Foundation.
• Build and maintain relationships with community leaders and stakeholders.
• Assist with proactive strategy development and grantmaking techniques for various Foundation programs.
• Develop evaluation and reporting systems for grant initiatives and track progress.
• Communicate engagement impacts to stakeholders and identify funding opportunities.
• Keep abreast of emerging issues in relevant areas and represent the Foundation in exploratory meetings.
• Support organization-wide efforts and assist in resolving strategic issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience in a direct service or leadership position within a nonprofit or governmental entity.
• Experience in managing complex projects involving a wide range of stakeholders.
• Strong computer, data, and technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based systems.

• Experience in community engagement or philanthropy-related roles.
• Familiarity with grantmaking policies and procedures.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.
