About the position

The Community Engagement Manager at Kent Youth and Family Services is responsible for enhancing community engagement, managing fundraising efforts, and ensuring brand identity continuity across various departments. This role supports the agency's mission by coordinating events and fostering relationships with community groups, organizations, and donors.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and produce fundraising and promotional materials to demonstrate impact and cultivate participation, donors, and supporters.
  • Act as an ambassador for KYFS by participating in community events and speaking engagements.
  • Plan, implement, and monitor all private fundraising activities, including the KYFS Annual Event.
  • Cultivate, engage, solicit, and steward individual donors, including managing digital fundraising campaigns.
  • Research, write, and prepare grant proposals for corporate, government, and foundation funding.
  • Plan and execute a comprehensive annual fundraising plan in partnership with agency leadership.
  • Maintain development files and records regarding prospective contributors and ensure smooth operations for reporting and auditing.
  • Engage and collaborate with community groups and local businesses to promote KYFS programs and advance fundraising efforts.

Requirements

  • Experience in managing and growing social media presence on platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
  • Experience in fund development and community relations.
  • Proven experience in coordinating and securing funds through various fundraising strategies.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and WordPress is desired.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and able to type at least 30 WPM.
  • Commitment to diversity, social justice, and equity.
  • Experience in non-profit environments or volunteer work is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with digital newsletters and public service announcements.
  • Knowledge of grant writing and preparation.
