About the position

The Community Engagement & Outreach Specialist will manage and implement community service projects aimed at enhancing public awareness and education on various topics, including health and environmental issues. This role focuses on outreach efforts to engage diverse community members and stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with local organizations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the implementation of community service projects focused on education and outreach.
• Manage outreach and education events, including participant and volunteer engagement.
• Collect data and complete required reports related to outreach activities.
• Provide information on COVID-19 vaccines, climate justice, water conservation, and mental health education.
• Organize and participate in community meetings and resource fairs to promote program initiatives.
• Build and maintain relationships with community partners to enhance outreach efforts.
• Develop and implement outreach strategies to increase community awareness and participation.
• Assess community needs and tailor engagement activities accordingly.
• Utilize social media and digital platforms to expand outreach efforts.
• Collaborate with other CHD programs and external partners for coordinated outreach activities.

Requirements

• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and/or Punjabi/Farsi.
• Strong communication skills to engage with diverse community members and stakeholders.
• Experience in community outreach, engagement, or a related field is preferred.
• Familiarity with local community resources and barriers facing farmworkers and their dependents.
• High School diploma required; Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
