About the position

This is a fantastic position for anyone interested in working in the health care or social work fields. We welcome current or former Caregivers, CNAs, and DSPs as well as caring individuals without previous, formal experience! This listing is for Marion, Indiana, where we are seeking Community Engagement staff to work with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their family homes and out in the community. The role involves engaging with clients and providing support tailored to their needs, which may include respite services, PAC services, DHI services, and transportation. Community engagement staff may work up to 10-hour shifts per the family's schedule, with shifts potentially scheduled any day of the week. The position may require driving from one home to another, depending on the families served. The tasks performed will vary based on the services the family qualifies for, and staff will be responsible for assisting clients with light house cleaning, meal preparation, and community activities, as well as teaching life skills. Additionally, the role may include helping clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, and other hygiene tasks. All training and certification are provided and paid for by AID of Indiana, and employees will be on the clock as soon as they start training. The pay for this position is $16.25 per hour, and we offer various bonuses and benefits to our staff.

Responsibilities

  • Work with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their family homes and out in the community.
  • Assist clients with light house cleaning and meal preparation.
  • Engage clients in community activities and teach life skills.
  • Help clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing and dressing.
  • Drive to multiple family homes as needed based on the schedule.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid Driver's License is required.
  • Previous experience in caregiving or related fields is preferred.
  • Compassionate, reliable, and able to work independently.
