About the position

The Community Engagement and Programs Manager at the Segundo Ruiz Belvis Cultural Center (SRBCC) plays a vital role in the organization by designing, developing, and implementing artistic and educational programs that align with the center's mission to preserve and promote the culture and arts of Puerto Rico and Latin America. This position is essential for fostering community engagement and ensuring that programs resonate with the diverse audiences served by the center. The manager will report directly to the Executive Director and will be responsible for creative program planning, coordination, and collaboration with artists, educators, and community partners. In this role, the manager will conceptualize innovative programs that reflect current trends and community needs, ensuring that the offerings are relevant and impactful. The position requires a strong focus on program implementation, including managing logistics, scheduling, and resource allocation. The manager will also oversee program budgets, ensuring responsible financial stewardship while collaborating with artists and facilitators to deliver high-quality experiences. Community engagement is a key aspect of this role, as the manager will cultivate relationships with local organizations, schools, and community partners to enhance program reach. The manager will also be responsible for recruiting and managing a roster of artists and instructors, facilitating communication, and providing necessary support to ensure successful program delivery. Evaluation and reporting are critical components of the position, as the manager will develop assessment tools to measure program effectiveness and prepare reports for stakeholders. Collaboration with other departments and cultural institutions will be necessary to integrate programs with exhibitions and performances, while marketing and promotional strategies will be employed to maximize participation and visibility. The manager will also assist in budget planning and grant applications, ensuring compliance with requirements and reporting. Continuous professional development is encouraged, with opportunities to attend conferences and workshops to stay informed about industry trends.

Responsibilities

  • Design and conceptualize innovative artistic and educational programs that align with the organization's mission and strategic vision.
  • Research current trends, best practices, and community needs to inform program development.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to curate a diverse range of artistic experiences.
  • Coordinate the execution of programs, including scheduling, logistics, and resource allocation.
  • Manage program budgets and ensure responsible financial stewardship.
  • Collaborate with artists, instructors, and facilitators to ensure high-quality program delivery.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with community partners, schools, and local organizations to enhance program reach and impact.
  • Collaborate with outreach teams to promote programs and engage a diverse audience.
  • Recruit, onboard, and manage a roster of artists, instructors, and guest speakers.
  • Facilitate communication between artists and program participants.
  • Provide support and resources to artists and instructors to ensure successful program delivery.
  • Develop and implement assessment tools to measure program effectiveness and impact.
  • Collect and analyze data to track program outcomes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare regular reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate programs with exhibitions, performances, and other organizational initiatives.
  • Establish and nurture partnerships with other cultural institutions, schools, and community organizations.
  • Contribute to the marketing and promotional strategies for programs to maximize participation and visibility.
  • Create compelling program descriptions, press releases, and promotional materials.
  • Assist in budget planning and grant applications related to program initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with grant requirements and reporting.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and developments in arts education and programming.
  • Attend relevant conferences, workshops, and networking events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Arts, Arts Administration, Education, or a related field (or equivalent experience); Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience in program management within a non-profit arts organization or educational institution.
  • Strong understanding of arts education, curriculum development, and program evaluation.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and multitasking skills.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in software and tools relevant to program management and reporting.

Nice-to-haves
