About the position

SERV is an exciting entertainment venue located in Overland Park, seeking an experienced Community Events Manager to join our team. The Community Events Manager will play a crucial role in identifying, sourcing, and managing relationships with various community groups, including non-profit organizations, trade associations, home associations, and multifamily communities. This position is focused on outbound sales efforts, developing new business opportunities, and collaborating closely with community partners to plan and execute successful events. In this role, the Community Events Manager will proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities, maintaining a robust sales pipeline through techniques such as cold calling, networking, and lead generation. The manager will work collaboratively with internal team members to foster relationships with prospects and clients, ensuring that their needs are met and expectations exceeded. The position also involves extensive event planning and coordination. The Community Events Manager will collaborate with non-profit and community prospects to understand their event goals, budgets, and requirements. They will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a variety of events, including fundraisers, pickleball tournaments, and galas, ensuring seamless execution from concept to completion. Additionally, the manager will develop long-term partnerships with non-profit organizations, providing ongoing support and consultation. They will assist clients in developing and implementing fundraising strategies that align with their mission and goals, offering insights and best practices to maximize fundraising potential. The role includes tracking and reporting on sales metrics, event performance, and client satisfaction, providing regular updates to management on sales progress, challenges, and opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities with non-profit organizations, trade associations, home associations, multifamily communities, and other community groups.
  • Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline using outbound sales techniques such as cold calling, networking, and lead generation.
  • Collaborate with internal team members to foster prospect and client relationships.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for non-profit clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
  • Develop and implement strategies for partner retention and growth, ensuring consistent satisfaction and engagement.
  • Serve as a liaison between SERV and community organizations, fostering a collaborative environment and aligning event offerings with community needs.
  • Assist non-profit clients in developing and implementing fundraising strategies that align with their mission and goals.
  • Provide insights and best practices for maximizing event fundraising potential.
  • Develop fundraising programming and offerings in a competitive market.
  • Track and report on sales metrics, event performance, and client satisfaction.
  • Provide regular updates to management on sales progress, challenges, and opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Event Management, or related field.
  • Proven experience in outbound sales within the non-profit sector.
  • Strong understanding of event planning and fundraising strategies.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
