Planned Parenthood California Central Coast (PPCCC) is seeking a dedicated Community Health Educator to join our team in Santa Maria and San Luis Obispo. This full-time position is integral to our Community Engagement Department, focusing on the implementation of community education programs and activities aimed at promoting sexual health and life skills. The Community Health Educator will be responsible for delivering medically accurate, inclusive, and culturally appropriate sexual health education to diverse groups, particularly targeting youth in low-resource communities. This role requires fluency in both English and Spanish, with a strong preference for candidates who also speak Mixteco. The Community Health Educator will schedule and conduct educational sessions, develop and update curricula, and promote awareness of reproductive health services available at local Family PACT health centers. Additionally, the educator will participate in evaluation and data tracking activities to assess the quality and impact of programming, which is essential for grant reporting. Collaboration with the Development Department to prepare narrative sections of grant proposals and reports is also a key responsibility. The position involves attending various training sessions and community events, which may take place across the affiliate's three-county service area. This hybrid position will primarily be based at the Santa Maria Health Center, and it requires a valid California driver's license, reliable transportation, and insurance. The ideal candidate will have a background in reproductive health, sexuality, outreach, or education, and will possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. This role is vital in advancing health equity and ensuring that every individual in our communities has access to the information and resources they need to make informed health decisions.
