About the position
The Community Hospital Registration Associate plays a vital role in the revenue cycle process within a community hospital setting, handling both inpatient and outpatient services. This position is responsible for gathering necessary information for patient pre-registration and registration, ensuring accurate billing, verifying insurance, and adhering to regulatory requirements. The role involves direct patient interaction and supports various hospital departments, making it essential for establishing a positive relationship with patients and their families.
Responsibilities
- Secure all information required for patient pre-registration and registration.
- Convert the correct visit within the billing system.
- Verify insurance and benefits for patients.
- Review regulatory requirements for admissions, observations, surgical day care visits, ED visits, and outpatient services.
- Interact directly with patients and provide support across multiple hospital departments.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of six months experience in a customer service setting required.
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge of medical health insurance preferred.
