The Community Host plays a pivotal role in this vision, serving as the first point of contact for members and visitors at the coworking space. This position is fundamentally about hospitality, focusing on building relationships and fostering a sense of community among members. The Community Host is responsible for greeting members and visitors, engaging in thoughtful conversations, and developing connections that enhance the coworking experience. In this role, strong communication skills are essential. The ideal candidate will be personable, social, and energized by interactions with others. They will initiate one-on-one conversations and maintain frequent touchpoints with members, actively listening to their needs and responding accordingly. The Community Host must be adaptable and intuitive, capable of reading between the lines to anticipate the needs of both current and prospective members. Essential traits for success in this role include open-mindedness, self-awareness, patience, and confidence in their abilities to navigate various situations. Problem-solving is a key aspect of the Community Host's daily responsibilities. Each day presents new challenges, from assisting members with technology to ensuring conference rooms are well-prepared. The Community Host must be a jack-of-all-trades, demonstrating initiative and the ability to shift gears quickly. Strong time management and prioritization skills are crucial, as is a willingness to troubleshoot creatively. The role also involves member support, including giving tours to prospective members, hosting engagement events, and managing day-to-day operations at the front desk. The Community Host will handle emails, phone calls, conference room bookings, and facility requests, ensuring that all members feel supported and valued in their coworking environment.

Responsibilities

  • Greet members and visitors at the front desk.
  • Build lasting relationships with members through thoughtful conversations.
  • Initiate one-on-one conversations and maintain frequent touchpoints with members.
  • Anticipate the needs of members and prospective members through active listening.
  • Assist members with technology and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Conduct tours for prospective members and vet new additions to the community.
  • Host member engagement events, including weekly happy hours and monthly workshops.
  • Manage day-to-day operations at the front desk, including responding to emails and phone calls.
  • Handle conference room bookings and communicate facility requests.
  • Work closely with the Connects team to understand team dynamics and roles.
