About the position

Wilson Sonsini is seeking a Community Impact Assistant to join our Community Impact (CI) team in Palo Alto. This role is primarily in-person, requiring at least three days a week on-site. The CI Assistant will play a crucial role in providing administrative support for various pro bono and community service programs, as well as other community impact events and initiatives. The responsibilities will include scheduling meetings, researching nonprofits, tracking immigration cases, assisting with presentations and surveys, managing social media, and handling various projects that support the CI team. The CI Assistant will be responsible for maintaining and updating case distribution and project interest lists, processing audit letters, assisting with pro bono proposals, and helping with surveys and award nominations by tracking deadlines and submissions. Additionally, the assistant will contribute to the preparation of firm publications, such as the Annual Community Impact Report, and assist with inquiries related to community service activities. The role also involves using and updating the Paladin pro bono platform to manage pro bono matters and maintaining the pro bono and community service section of the firm's intranet. In supporting the Wilson Sonsini Foundation, the CI Assistant will update and maintain the Foundation section of the firm's intranet, manage grants folders, and assist with financial tasks, including finance register and audit preparation. This position requires a proactive individual with strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. The CI Assistant will also coordinate AV and IT program needs and proofread all work to ensure accuracy and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for pro bono and community service programs and initiatives, including scheduling meetings and activities.
  • Assist with staffing volunteers and maintaining communication.
  • Maintain and update case distribution and project interest lists.
  • Process audit letters and assist with pro bono proposals.
  • Help with surveys and award nominations, tracking deadlines and submissions.
  • Assist with the preparation of firm publications and presentations.
  • Research nonprofits and projects relevant to community impact.
  • Track immigration cases and community service activities.
  • Manage CI social media and CI Team Email & Updates.
  • Support WSGives firmwide events, including awards and vendor coordination.
  • Use and update the Paladin pro bono platform to manage pro bono matters.
  • Update and maintain the pro bono and community service section of the firm's intranet.
  • Coordinate AV and IT program needs and proofread all work as needed.
  • Assist with other projects as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience in a professional environment preferred.

  • Dependable team player with a professional manner and good judgment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Proficient on social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram).
  • Familiarity with video platforms (Zoom, MS Teams) preferred.
