About the position

The Community Liaison (Hospice Sales) position at Hospice of the West is a full-time role focused on promoting hospice services within the community. The role involves building strong relationships with referral sources, physicians, and community partners to increase the preference for hospice services and ensure patients receive the care they deserve. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, passionate, and has prior hospice sales experience.

Responsibilities

  • Determine primary decision makers and proactively build positive relationships with members of the medical community and partners.
  • Promote and position Hospice's patient care service through regular visits that reflect the quality of care and unique capabilities.
  • Build the brand of the hospice as the preferred provider in the service area to achieve growth and census management goals.
  • Make regular, planned calls to secure new referrals and build census with referring physicians, facilities, case managers, discharge planners, and social workers.
  • Conduct initial meetings with patients and families to provide an overview of hospice services and obtain consents for care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred, with additional experience substituting for educational requirements.
  • Minimum of two years of sales/marketing experience in healthcare required.
  • Hospice/palliative marketing experience strongly preferred.
  • Skilled at establishing and maintaining working relationships with key staff and clinical staff to ensure understanding of hospice services.
  • Proven ability to generate and maintain relationships with new and existing accounts including physicians and community agencies.
  • Prior clinical experience is a plus.
