As the Community Liaison Officer at Drax, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Community Team's strategy in the United States, particularly in Alabama and Mississippi. Your primary responsibility will be to foster trust and facilitate effective communication between Drax and the local communities in which we operate. This involves engaging with community leaders, non-profit organizations, and under-represented voices to ensure that Drax's initiatives align with community needs and aspirations. You will serve as the first point of contact for community inquiries, helping to build strong relationships and promote Drax's objectives within these communities. In this role, you will be tasked with organizing community events and meetings that enhance Drax's visibility and engagement, as well as coordinating grant opportunities. You will also be responsible for gathering and maintaining data on community demographics and feedback, which will support evidence-based decision-making within the organization. Collaboration will be key, as you will work closely with local organizations, government agencies, and stakeholders to identify partnership opportunities and drive community initiatives forward. Your role will require regular travel within Louisiana, Alabama, and Mississippi, with expectations of up to 50% travel, including potential overnight stays. This position is essential for ensuring that Drax not only meets its business objectives but also contributes positively to the communities it serves, reinforcing our commitment to sustainable energy and community development.
