About the position

The Community Living Manager at United Cerebral Palsy of Georgia is responsible for overseeing the care and support of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role involves resource development, ensuring personal outcomes are achieved, and maintaining high-quality care. The manager supervises Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), manages staffing and schedules, and ensures compliance with policies and regulations. The position requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to effectively support both staff and individuals served.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, direct, and manage a team of Direct Support Professionals (DSPs).
  • Manage staffing and schedules, finding coverage when needed.
  • Schedule and facilitate one-on-one and team meetings.
  • Provide coverage and function as a DSP in the absence of staff.
  • Partner with Human Resources on hiring and termination decisions; conduct reviews of applications.
  • Conduct interviews with candidates to fill open positions.
  • Ensure compliance with local, State, and Federal requirements.
  • Ensure staff and locations operate according to UCP's policies and procedures.
  • Ensure completion of compliance training and activities in Relias.
  • Schedule and arrange activities to support transportation.
  • Conduct weekly medication counts and MAR reviews.
  • Inspect and report on the status of adaptive equipment.
  • Ensure vehicle operational safety and train staff on van and lift safety.
  • Ensure cleanliness of homes and compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
  • Complete weekly grocery orders and ensure dietary requirements are met.
  • Train staff on meal preparation and mealtime practices.
  • Shop for individuals to replace clothing and other items.
  • Manage CTF, Petty Cash, and Financial logs; submit receipts and requests for purchases.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation through daily checks and audits.
  • Perform home inspections and correct deficiencies.
  • Notify maintenance of any repairs needed.
  • Maintain relationships with families and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure completion of all evacuation drills and availability of safety equipment.
  • Manage medical appointments and arrange transport for appointments and emergencies.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must have CPR/FA and CPI certifications.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 5 years of experience as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) required.
  • At least 5 years of supervisory experience required.

Nice-to-haves

  • 4-Year Degree with a major in Human Services preferred.
  • 2 years of experience as a DSP preferred.
