About the position

The Community Living Program Manager at Community Access Services plays a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This leadership position involves guiding Direct Support Professionals to ensure compassionate care that promotes independence and community involvement. The manager fosters a positive team environment and builds meaningful connections within the community.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate positively with staff, supervisors, and individuals, maintaining confidentiality.
  • Model professional conduct and maintain ongoing communication with the Program Director.
  • Coordinate training and development for Direct Support Professionals, ensuring they are equipped to provide high-quality care.
  • Develop relationships with state and county personnel, community professionals, and families.
  • Foster a team environment, encouraging open communication and problem-solving.
  • Oversee safety protocols and ensure a safe, healthy environment for both staff and individuals served.
  • Be available to assist staff and adapt to changes within the program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 3 years of experience working with persons with IDD, including a minimum of 1 year in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient demeanor.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Capable of performing physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
