About the position

The Community Living Team Manager is responsible for ensuring that high-quality support is provided to individuals with physical and/or intellectual disabilities. This role involves monitoring the services provided, developing staff training and opportunities, and assisting in the development and implementation of financial, strategic, and programmatic goals. The manager will ensure that Supervisors and Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are completing their job duties effectively, ensuring contract compliance, and fulfilling The Opportunity Tree's mission, vision, and values. In this position, the manager will oversee and manage a team of DSPs and Supervisors, providing guidance, support, and direction to ensure the delivery of high-quality services and support to individuals. Establishing clear performance expectations is crucial, as is holding DSPs and Supervisors accountable for meeting objectives, targets, and service standards. The manager will monitor and evaluate the implementation of policies and procedures by DSPs and Supervisors, ensuring compliance and identifying areas for improvement. Fostering a positive and supportive work environment is essential, promoting teamwork, communication, and collaboration among DSPs, Supervisors, and other stakeholders. The manager will serve as a point of contact for escalated issues and concerns from DSPs, Supervisors, and individuals receiving services, addressing them promptly and taking appropriate actions. Additionally, the manager will create, monitor, and fill schedules as appropriate, utilizing the Paylocity timekeeping system to ensure accurate service hours as contracted. Assessing and evaluating the individual needs of each Member in their home is a key responsibility, as is advocating, facilitating, and coordinating support for Members. The manager will facilitate and participate in developing the Individual Service Plan and will develop and implement Member-driven goals/objectives and behavior-building programs, ensuring compliance with Article 9. Proactively maintaining communication with families and guardians of Members is also a critical aspect of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure high quality of support is provided to individuals with physical and/or intellectual disabilities.
  • Monitor the services provided and develop staff training and opportunities.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of financial, strategic, and programmatic goals.
  • Oversee and manage a team of DSPs and Supervisors, providing guidance and support.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and hold DSPs and Supervisors accountable.
  • Monitor and evaluate the implementation of policies and procedures by DSPs and Supervisors.
  • Foster a positive and supportive work environment, promoting teamwork and communication.
  • Serve as a point of contact for escalated issues and concerns from DSPs and Supervisors.
  • Create, monitor, and fill schedules as appropriate.
  • Utilize Paylocity timekeeping system to ensure accurate service hours as contracted.
  • Assess and evaluate the individual needs of each Member in their home.
  • Advocate, facilitate, and coordinate support for Members.
  • Facilitate and participate in developing the Individual Service Plan.
  • Develop and implement Member driven goals/objectives and behavior building programs ensuring Article 9 compliance.
  • Maintain communication with families/guardians of Members.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Current driver license with Non-Restricted Motor Vehicle Record.
  • One year of supervisory experience, including knowledge of management principles and leadership abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, including writing, speaking, and listening.
  • Two years of experience in the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) field in a residential or HCBS setting.
  • Bachelor's degree in human services preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, and web browsing.
  • Knowledge of best practice models and community integration.
  • Successfully meet AZ-DPS requirements for Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel for The Opportunity Tree business.
