About the position

Pillar Communities is seeking a Community Manager for an upscale apartment community with 120 units in downtown Seattle. The role is responsible for maximizing the property's long-term operating performance, managing personnel, and ensuring high standards of customer service. The Community Manager will lead a team, develop marketing strategies, and maintain the physical condition of the property while adhering to company standards.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit and retain a team of sales and service-oriented property management professionals.
  • Train and develop on-site employees to promote from within.
  • Support and develop the Assistant Manager and Maintenance Supervisor in their roles.
  • Ensure all employees adhere to Pillar Communities' philosophy of respect and high customer service.
  • Develop strong marketing and customer service skills to increase resident retention.
  • Anticipate market changes and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Conduct physical inspections of the property to evaluate health, safety, and asset preservation.
  • Recommend capital improvements based on property condition assessments.
  • Ensure property employees focus on budget status and current trends.
  • Conduct regular audits of office and maintenance procedures.
  • Prepare various weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports accurately and timely.
  • Develop an operating budget for the property with input from the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Warmly greet prospective residents and present community features and benefits.
  • Attend to resident issues and maintain communication.
  • Stay aware of local market conditions and trends.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Exceptional customer service and leasing skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and professionalism.
  • Strategic thinker with strong communication skills.
  • 3-5 years of prior property management experience.
  • High tolerance for ambiguity and change.
  • Friendly, outgoing personality with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace and meet deadlines.
  • Intermediate level of English reading, spelling, writing, and comprehension.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions.
  • Computer literate, including Microsoft Office products and Yardi.
