About the position

The Community Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of assigned communities, ensuring that company objectives are met. This role involves managing staff, leasing and marketing efforts, compliance with regulations, accounting tasks, and maintaining resident satisfaction. The Community Manager plays a crucial role in enhancing the community's performance and reputation while fostering a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, direct and supervise employees assigned to the community.
  • Provide employees with regular performance feedback and conduct annual reviews.
  • Interview, hire, train, and retain employees effectively.
  • Perform accounting tasks including collecting and posting rent and processing month-end receipts.
  • Oversee the community's marketing program and social media engagement.
  • Provide excellent customer service to residents, prospects, and guests.
  • Monitor HUD fair market rents and ensure compliance with tax credit programs.
  • Complete resident move-outs and ensure compliance with lease terms.
  • Respond to resident questions and concerns in a timely manner.
  • Supervise resident retention programs and leasing efforts.
  • Conduct regular community inspections of common areas and amenities.
  • Prepare and monitor the community's operating budget.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in property management, including sales/multi-family leasing and supervisory responsibility.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of Federal Fair Housing regulations.
  • Knowledge of Section 42 LIHTC program and compliance processes.
  • Experience leading a team and managing employee performance.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Prior budgeting experience and ability to interpret financial statements.
  • Experience using property management software, preferably Yardi.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
